I'm the sole creator of StudyHaven, and I take your privacy seriously. This policy outlines how I collect, use, and protect your data when you use StudyHaven.

Data I Collect

1. Matomo (Web Analytics)

I use Matomo, a privacy-friendly analytics tool, to understand how StudyHaven is used. This helps me improve the platform for everyone. I collect data on things like:

  • The worksheets and questions you create
  • Your general activity on the website (which pages you visit, how long you stay, etc.)
  • Your approximate location (based on IP address)
  • The type of device and browser you use

2. Umami (Web Analytics)

I also use Umami, another privacy-friendly analytics tool, to gather similar data as Matomo. This includes:

  • The worksheets and questions you create
  • Your general activity on the website
  • Your approximate location (based on IP address)

3. Dodo Payments (Payments Processing)

If you purchase a premium feature, your payment will be processed by Dodo Payments. I do not collect or store any credit card information—Dodo Payments handles all transactions securely. However, Dodo Payments may collect:

  • Your email address
  • Payment details (handled securely by Dodo Payments, not stored on StudyHaven)
  • Transaction history (e.g., date of purchase, subscription status)

3. Paddle (Payments Processing)

If you purchase a premium feature, your payment will be processed by Paddle. I do not collect or store any credit card information—Paddle handles all transactions securely. However, Paddle may collect:

  • Your email address
  • Payment details (handled securely by Paddle, not stored on StudyHaven)
  • Transaction history (e.g., date of purchase, subscription status)

4. Cloudflare (Security & Performance)

StudyHaven uses Cloudflare for security, performance optimization, and file storage. Cloudflare may collect and process certain data, such as IP addresses, to provide these services. For more details, refer to Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy.

5. Private Web Hosting

StudyHaven is hosted on a private server provided by Hetzner. Hetzner may collect ingress and egress metrics for security and performance reasons.

6. Supabase (Database & Authentication)

Your account information (email, username, and securely hashed password) is stored on Supabase.

7. Discord OAuth (Optional Authentication)

If you sign up using Discord, I will have access to:

  • Your email
  • Your username
  • Your avatar and banner This data is used solely for authentication and follows Discord’s terms of service.

How I Use Your Data

  • Understanding Usage Patterns: Analytics help me see which features are popular and where improvements are needed.
  • Measuring Success: I track how often users create worksheets, questions, and tests.
  • Planning New Features: By analyzing usage data, I can develop features that benefit users.
  • Processing Payments: Dodo Payments handles transactions and ensures your purchases are properly linked to your account.

Protecting Your Data

  • Encryption: Sensitive data (like passwords) is encrypted.
  • Limited Access: Only I have access to the data stored in the database.
  • Security Checks: Regular reviews are conducted to ensure StudyHaven remains secure.

What Data is Public?

  • Discord Username and Avatar: Your Discord username and avatar are public only if you post, comment, or star a resource post.

No Funny Business

I do not sell, share, or misuse your data. Your information is only used as described in this policy.
